The Editorial Board of the Journal of Organic and Inorganic Chemistry (JOIC) plays a pivotal role in upholding the scientific quality, integrity, and reputation of the journal. 1. Roles and Responsibilities

As a member of the Editorial Board, you are expected to:

  • Manuscript Handling: Assist in assigning appropriate reviewers, evaluating manuscripts, and providing recommendations.
  • Policy Guidance: Provide input on editorial policies, ethical standards, and strategic growth of the journal.
  • Promotion: Encourage high-quality submissions from colleagues and researchers in the field.

2. Peer Review Oversight

  • Ensure that all manuscripts undergo rigorous, fair, and unbiased peer review.
  • Recommend expert reviewers for submissions in your area of expertise.
  • Monitor reviewer performance and provide feedback to maintain high standards.

3. Ethical Standards

  • Maintain confidentiality for all manuscripts, reviewer reports, and discussions regarding submissions.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest when handling manuscripts or making editorial decisions.
  • Uphold the principles of research integrity, originality, and transparency, in line with COPE guidelines.

4. Editorial Board Meetings

  • Participate in regular editorial board meetings, either virtually or in person, to discuss journal policies, review performance metrics, and plan special issues.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance the journal’s visibility, indexing, and reputation in the global scientific community.

5. Decision-Making Authority

  • Editorial Board members provide guidance and recommendations, but final decisions regarding acceptance or rejection of manuscripts rest with the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Board members may also advise on strategic initiatives, including calls for special issues or thematic collections.

6. Communication and Support

  • Maintain active communication with the editorial office for smooth workflow management.
  • Support the editorial team in resolving disputes, ethical concerns, or reviewer issues as needed.

7. Recognition

  • Editorial Board members are publicly acknowledged on the journal website and listed in all official publications.
  • Contributions are recognized in annual editorial reports and may include certificates of appreciation.
