The SCICONX Journal of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine (JSCRM) is committed to providing authors with a clear, structured, and supportive manuscript submission experience. Our submission process is designed to uphold transparency, scientific rigor, and ethical publishing practices at every stage. This page outlines each step in detail so authors can navigate the process confidently and efficiently.

1. Preparing Your Manuscript

Before initiating your submission, authors should ensure that the manuscript is:

  • Formatting Template (Click here to download).
  • Prepared according to the Instructions for Authors
  • Written in clear, coherent, and scholarly English
  • Supported by ethical approvals (for human, animal, or stem cell research)
  • Formatted with all mandatory sections including title page, abstract, methods, results, discussion, references, and required declarations
  • Accompanied by high-quality figures, tables, supplementary files, and datasets (when applicable)

Authors must also prepare:

  • A cover letter summarizing the novelty of the work
  • A list of potential reviewers
  • A declaration of conflicts of interest
  • Statements on ethics, consent, and data availability

Failure to follow manuscript preparation guidelines may lead to immediate return or desk rejection.

All submissions are handled through the SCICONX Online Submission Portal.

Steps:

  1. Visit the JSCRM submission portal (accessible via the journal website).
  2. Create an author account if you are a first-time user.
  3. Log in to access the Author Dashboard, where new submissions and revisions are managed.

The portal interface provides guided steps, automatic prompts, and a checklist to ensure completeness of your submission.

Selecting the correct category ensures efficient processing.

4. Uploading Manuscript Components

The submission system will guide authors to upload the following files:

The system will validate file formats and prompt for corrections if needed.

5. Submission Confirmation

  • Click “Finalize Submission”

A confirmation email will be sent to the corresponding author instantly, containing:

6. Initial Editorial Evaluation (Triage)

After submission, your manuscript enters the initial screening stage, where the editors assess:

  • Relevance to the journal’s scope
  • Scientific merit and originality
  • Clarity and organization
  • Ethical compliance
  • Suitability for peer review
  • Adherence to journal formatting guidelines

Outcomes of the initial evaluation:

Sent for peer review

Returned for technical corrections

Desk rejected (with reasons explained)

This stage typically requires 2–5 days.

7. Peer Review Process

JSCRM follows a double-blind peer review system, ensuring anonymity between authors and reviewers.

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript for:

  • Scientific validity
  • Novelty and significance
  • Experimental rigor
  • Data quality and reproducibility
  • Ethical suitability
  • Clarity and coherence of presentation

Following reviewer feedback, the editor compiles a decision:

  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Revise and Resubmit
  • Accept with Modifications
  • Reject

Authors will receive a detailed decision letter along with anonymous reviewer comments.

8. Revision Submission Process

If revisions are required:

Authors must submit:

  • A revised manuscript with tracked changes
  • A clean version without annotations
  • A point-by-point response to reviewer comments
  • Updated files such as figures or ethics documentation (if needed)

Revised manuscripts are usually evaluated within 5–14 days, depending on complexity. Some revisions may be returned to reviewers for re-assessment.
