Instructions for Authors

The SCICONX Journal of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine welcomes high-quality manuscripts that advance knowledge, innovation, and translational impact in the fields of stem cell biology, regenerative therapies, tissue engineering, cellular reprogramming, and biomaterials. To maintain rigorous scientific standards and ensure an efficient review process, authors are requested to follow the guidelines detailed below.

1. General Guidelines

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration in any other journal.
  • All submissions must be written in clear, concise, and professional English.
  • Authors must ensure that all data is accurate, ethically obtained, and properly reported.
  • The journal accepts submissions from researchers, clinicians, academicians, and interdisciplinary collaborators worldwide.

2. Manuscript Categories

JSCRM accepts the following article types:

 Original Research Articles

Comprehensive studies presenting new experimental data and methodological advancements.

➤ Review Articles

Critical and analytical overviews summarizing current knowledge and future directions.

➤ Short Communications

Brief reports with significant findings requiring rapid dissemination.

➤ Case Studies / Case Reports

Well-documented clinical observations relevant to regenerative medicine.

➤ Technical Notes

Descriptions of new techniques, protocols, or methodological optimizations.

➤ Mini Reviews / Perspectives

Concise summaries or expert viewpoints on emerging topics.

➤ Editorials

By invitation only; commentaries from experts on current trends.

3. Manuscript Structure

Authors should structure their submissions as follows:

3.1 Title Page

  • Full manuscript title (concise and informative)
  • Author names and affiliations
  • Corresponding author details (email, phone, address)
  • ORCID iDs (recommended)
  • Acknowledgment of funding, if applicable
  • Conflict of interest statement

3.2 Abstract

A single paragraph of 150–300 words, summarizing:

  • Background
  • Objectives
  • Methods
  • Key findings
  • Conclusions

Include 3–7 keywords that reflect the central content of the manuscript.

3.3 Main Text

Depending on the article type, the following sections may apply:

4. Formatting Requirements

  • Formatting Template (Click here to download).
  • Submit your manuscript in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12
  • Spacing: 1.5 line spacing
  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides
  • Page numbering: Required
  • Figures/Tables: Place at the end of the manuscript or upload separately.

5. Figures, Tables & Supplementary Material

➤ Figures

  • Must be high-resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
  • Acceptable formats: JPEG, PNG, TIFF.
  • Provide figure legends separately.

➤ Tables

  • Number consecutively using Arabic numerals.
  • Provide clear titles and footnotes where necessary.

➤ Supplementary Files

  • Include datasets, videos, protocols, or extended methods.
  • Must be referenced within the main text.

6. References

JSCRM follows a modified Vancouver referencing style:

Example (Journal Article):
Author(s). Title of article. Journal Name. Year; Volume(Issue):Pages.

Ensure all references cited in the text are included in the reference list.

7. Ethical Considerations

➤ Human and Animal Studies

  • Studies must comply with international ethical standards (e.g., Declaration of Helsinki).
  • Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee approvals must be stated.
  • Informed consent is mandatory for human subject research.

➤ Stem Cell Research Compliance

Authors must declare compliance with:

  • Guidelines for human embryonic stem cell (hESC) research
  • Induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) ethical regulations
  • Biosafety protocols for genetic modification

➤ Conflict of Interest

All authors must declare any financial or personal relationships that might influence the work.

8. Authorship Criteria

Authorship must follow ICMJE guidelines:

  • Significant contribution to research conception/design/data
  • Drafting or critical revision of the manuscript
  • Final approval of the version submitted
  • Accountability for all content

Any changes in authorship after submission require written consent from all authors.

9. Peer Review Process

  • JSCRM follows a rigorous double-blind peer-review methodology.
  • Manuscripts are initially screened for editorial suitability.
  • Typical review timeline: 2–4 weeks.
  • Authors may be requested to revise and resubmit based on reviewer feedback.

10. Publication Charges

  • Article Processing Charges (APC) will be communicated upon acceptance.

12. Cover Letter Guidelines

A cover letter should accompany each submission and include:

13. Post-Acceptance

Upon acceptance:

  • Authors will receive galley proofs for final corrections.
  • Only minor textual adjustments are allowed at this stage.
  • Articles are published online ahead of print.
