The Journal of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine (JSCRM) is committed to supporting open access publication while maintaining the highest standards of editorial integrity and scientific quality. To ensure sustainable operations, timely peer review, and global dissemination of research, JSCRM implements an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted manuscripts.

This page provides complete, transparent, and detailed information regarding APCs, payment policies, and benefits associated with publication in JSCRM.

1. What is an Article Processing Charge (APC)?

An Article Processing Charge (APC) is a fee required from authors upon acceptance of their manuscript. The APC:

  • Covers costs of peer review management
  • Supports professional editorial and production services
  • Enables high-quality typesetting, formatting, and proofreading
  • Facilitates global open access dissemination

The APC ensures that articles are freely accessible to the global scientific community without subscription barriers.

2. APC Structure

  • The Standard article processing charges are 1229 Euros and these APCs are exclusive of any applicable taxes.

Note: Charges apply only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication following peer review.

3. Payment Process

Once a manuscript is accepted, the corresponding author will receive:

  1. Acceptance Notification
Confirming that the manuscript has successfully passed peer review and editorial checks.
  2. Invoice Generation
    The APC invoice will include:
    • Manuscript ID
    • Article title and type
    • Total charge in the selected currency
    • Payment instructions and due date
  3. Payment Methods
    Authors may pay via:
    • Bank transfer
    • Online credit/debit card payment
    • Institutional payment (if available)
  4. Confirmation of Payment
Once payment is received, the article enters the production phase and will be published online after final proof approval.

5. Benefits of Paying the APC

  • Professional editorial support to improve clarity and readability
  • Inclusion in major indexing and abstracting services
  • Retention of copyright with full reuse rights under Creative Commons license
  • Post-publication support for corrections, updates, or supplementary materials

6. Transparency and Ethics

JSCRM ensures:

  • No hidden or additional charges beyond the APC
  • Ethical use of collected fees solely for publication and editorial purposes
  • Full documentation and receipts for all APC payments

The APC is never a prerequisite for manuscript consideration or peer review.

7. Withdrawal Policy

SCICONX Publishing respects authors’ rights to request manuscript withdrawal but emphasizes that such requests should be made responsibly due to the significant time and resources invested by editors, reviewers, and the publishing team. Authors may withdraw their manuscript without penalty before peer review begins. During peer review, a valid reason—such as ethical concerns, duplication, or submission errors—must be provided. Post-acceptance withdrawal is strongly discouraged, and submitting the same manuscript to another journal without proper justification is considered unethical and may be reported. To offset editorial and processing efforts, a withdrawal fee equivalent to 40% of the Article Processing Charge (APC) may be applied for requests made after peer review starts. The Editorial Office retains the right to approve or decline withdrawal requests, particularly in cases of suspected misconduct or duplication. SCICONX encourages authors to thoroughly evaluate the journal’s scope and policies prior to submission to minimize unnecessary withdrawal requests, ensuring a smooth and ethical publishing process.
