The SCICONX Journal of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Bio Biopharmaceutics (JPCB) is a fully open-access journal, dedicated to making high-quality research freely accessible to the global scientific community. To support the editorial process, peer review management, and dissemination of articles, the journal levies an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted manuscripts. This page provides detailed information about APC, including its purpose, payment procedures, and other details.

1. Purpose of Article Processing Charges

APCs are essential for maintaining the quality and sustainability of open-access publishing. The fees cover:

  • Editorial Management: Coordination of manuscript handling, reviewer assignment, and quality assurance.
  • Peer Review Process: Compensation for editorial oversight and efficient management of the double-blind review system.
  • Production and Copyediting: Professional copyediting, formatting, and proofreading to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Online Hosting and Dissemination: Permanent online publication with DOI assignment, indexing, and archiving in recognized scientific databases.
  • Open Access Availability: Ensures that all published research is freely accessible to researchers, institutions, and the public worldwide.

2. APC Amount

  • The Standard article processing charges are 1229 Euros and these APCs are exclusive of any applicable taxes.

Note: Charges apply only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication following peer review.

3. What the APC Includes

Payment of the APC covers:

  1. Full open-access publication under a Creative Commons license.
  2. Professional copyediting for language, style, and formatting.
  3. Typesetting and layout preparation for online publication.
  4. Inclusion in indexing and abstracting services to enhance visibility and citation potential.
  5. Online hosting and archiving, ensuring long-term preservation of the article.

4. Payment Process

  • After manuscript acceptance, authors will receive an invoice with payment instructions.
  • Payment can be made through secure online payment portals, bank transfers, or other approved methods.
  • Upon confirmation of payment, the manuscript will proceed to final production and online publication.

5. Important Notes

  • APCs are non-refundable, except in cases of withdrawal due to administrative error by the journal.
  • Authors are responsible for ensuring funding arrangements to cover APCs prior to acceptance.
  • All transactions are handled securely to ensure confidentiality and data protection.

6. Withdrawal Policy

SCICONX Publishing respects authors’ rights to request manuscript withdrawal but emphasizes that such requests should be made responsibly due to the significant time and resources invested by editors, reviewers, and the publishing team. Authors may withdraw their manuscript without penalty before peer review begins. During peer review, a valid reason—such as ethical concerns, duplication, or submission errors—must be provided. Post-acceptance withdrawal is strongly discouraged, and submitting the same manuscript to another journal without proper justification is considered unethical and may be reported. To offset editorial and processing efforts, a withdrawal fee equivalent to 40% of the Article Processing Charge (APC) may be applied for requests made after peer review starts. The Editorial Office retains the right to approve or decline withdrawal requests, particularly in cases of suspected misconduct or duplication. SCICONX encourages authors to thoroughly evaluate the journal’s scope and policies prior to submission to minimize unnecessary withdrawal requests, ensuring a smooth and ethical publishing process.
