The Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (JNN) accepts online submissions of original research articles, reviews, short communications, and perspectives. To ensure a smooth and efficient publishing experience, authors are requested to carefully follow the steps outlined below.
1. Prepare Your Manuscript
Before submission, authors should ensure that their manuscript:
- Adheres to the Instructions for Authors (formatting, structure, and reference style).
- Is written in clear and professional English.
- Includes all required sections: Title Page, Abstract, Keywords, Main Text, Figures/Tables, Acknowledgments, References.
- Has obtained necessary ethical approvals for studies involving humans, animals, or sensitive data.
- Has all figures and supplementary files in the correct format.
2. Online Submission
- Manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system.
- Authors should create an account or log in to their existing account.
- The system will guide authors to upload:
- Main manuscript file (Word format, with line numbers)
- Figures and tables (separate, high-resolution files)
- Supplementary materials (if any)
- Cover letter (briefly highlighting novelty and significance)
3. Initial Editorial Screening
- Submitted manuscripts are first reviewed by the Editorial Office to check for compliance with the journal’s scope, formatting guidelines, and ethical requirements.
- Manuscripts not meeting the basic requirements may be returned to authors for corrections before peer review.
4. Peer Review Process
- Eligible manuscripts proceed to double-blind peer review, where both reviewers and authors remain anonymous.
- Typically, at least two independent experts evaluate the manuscript for scientific quality, originality, and clarity.
- Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations (Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject).
5. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewer feedback and editorial assessment, one of the following decisions will be communicated:
- Accept – The manuscript is ready for publication.
- Minor Revision – Authors must address minor issues before acceptance.
- Major Revision – Authors are invited to substantially revise and resubmit.
- Reject – The manuscript does not meet the journal’s requirements.
6. Revision and Resubmission
- Authors must submit a revised manuscript along with a point-by-point response to reviewer comments.
- Revised submissions may be re-reviewed by the original reviewers or directly assessed by the handling editor.
7. Final Acceptance and Production
- Once accepted, manuscripts undergo copyediting, typesetting, and proofreading.
- Authors will have an opportunity to review proofs before final publication.
- Articles are published online as open access for immediate global visibility.
8. Publication Timeline
The journal strives to ensure a fair yet efficient review process:
- Initial Decision: within 2-3 days
- Peer Review Completion: 14-21 days
- Final Decision Post-Revisions: 5-7 days
- Online Publication: within 7–10 days of acceptance
