The Journal of Mental Health and Psychiatry (JMHP) is an open access journal, ensuring that all published content is freely available to readers worldwide without subscription barriers. To sustain this model, the journal relies on Article Processing Charges (APCs), which cover the costs associated with managing, reviewing, editing, producing, and disseminating scholarly work.
We believe in maintaining transparency regarding our publication costs and ensuring that financial considerations do not compromise the quality, accessibility, or integrity of research.
1. What Do APCs Cover?
The APC ensures that every article published in JMHP undergoes a rigorous editorial and production process, including:
2. APC Rates
Note: Charges apply only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication following peer review.
3. Payment Process
JMHP accepts a variety of payment options, including credit/debit cards, wire transfers, and institutional payments.
4. Funding and Institutional Support
Many research institutions and funding bodies provide support for APCs as part of research dissemination. Authors are encouraged to:
5. Transparency and Ethical Assurance
6. Withdrawal Policy
SCICONX Publishing respects authors’ rights to request manuscript withdrawal but emphasizes that such requests should be made responsibly due to the significant time and resources invested by editors, reviewers, and the publishing team. Authors may withdraw their manuscript without penalty before peer review begins. During peer review, a valid reason—such as ethical concerns, duplication, or submission errors—must be provided. Post-acceptance withdrawal is strongly discouraged, and submitting the same manuscript to another journal without proper justification is considered unethical and may be reported. To offset editorial and processing efforts, a withdrawal fee equivalent to 40% of the Article Processing Charge (APC) may be applied for requests made after peer review starts. The Editorial Office retains the right to approve or decline withdrawal requests, particularly in cases of suspected misconduct or duplication. SCICONX encourages authors to thoroughly evaluate the journal’s scope and policies prior to submission to minimize unnecessary withdrawal requests, ensuring a smooth and ethical publishing process.
7. Queries and Assistance
For questions regarding APCs, waiver eligibility, or payment procedures, authors are encouraged to contact the editorial office at: editorialoffice@sciconx.org. Our team will provide timely assistance and guidance throughout the process.
By maintaining a fair and transparent APC structure, the Journal of Mental Health and Psychiatry reinforce its mission of making high-quality psychiatric and mental health research freely available to practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and the public worldwide.
