The SCICONX Journal of Immunobiology is an international open-access journal committed to providing unrestricted, immediate access to high-quality scientific research in immunology and biological sciences. As part of SCICONX Publishing - a fully open-access, non-funded publishing platform - our operational sustainability depends exclusively on Article Processing Charges (APCs) contributed by authors or their supporting institutions.
This page provides a transparent and comprehensive overview of APCs, payment structure, inclusions and the value authors receive through the publication process.
1. Why Article Processing Charges Are Required
Unlike subscription-based journals, open-access publishing provides free global access to every published article, ensuring:
Since SCICONX Journal of Immunobiology does not charge readers, APCs are essential to cover the costs associated with the publication workflow, including:

Refunds may be considered only under exceptional circumstances:
Manuscript withdrawal after acceptance does not qualify for a refund unless justified and approved by the editorial office.
7. Withdrawal Policy
SCICONX Publishing respects authors’ rights to request manuscript withdrawal but emphasizes that such requests should be made responsibly due to the significant time and resources invested by editors, reviewers, and the publishing team. Authors may withdraw their manuscript without penalty before peer review begins. During peer review, a valid reason—such as ethical concerns, duplication, or submission errors—must be provided. Post-acceptance withdrawal is strongly discouraged, and submitting the same manuscript to another journal without proper justification is considered unethical and may be reported. To offset editorial and processing efforts, a withdrawal fee equivalent to 40% of the Article Processing Charge (APC) may be applied for requests made after peer review starts. The Editorial Office retains the right to approve or decline withdrawal requests, particularly in cases of suspected misconduct or duplication. SCICONX encourages authors to thoroughly evaluate the journal’s scope and policies prior to submission to minimize unnecessary withdrawal requests, ensuring a smooth and ethical publishing process.
8. Institutional & Funding Support
Authors are encouraged to:
The journal provides detailed invoices and supporting documentation for reimbursement purposes.
9. Commitment to Affordability & Quality
While maintaining rigorous editorial quality, SCICONX Journal of Immunobiology strives to keep APCs:
The goal is to ensure that high-quality immunobiology research remains widely accessible without financial barriers for authors.
