Instructions for Authors

The Journal of Nephrology welcomes submissions from researchers, clinicians, and professionals dedicated to advancing kidney health and nephrology research. To ensure a smooth and efficient peer-review process, authors are kindly requested to follow the guidelines outlined below.

 1. Article Types Accepted

We accept the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles
  • Systematic Reviews & Meta-Analyses
  • Clinical Case Reports
  • Short Communications
  • Editorials and Commentaries
  • Letters to the Editor
  • Clinical Trial Reports

2. Manuscript Formatting Guidelines

General Format:

  • Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • Use Times New Roman, font size 12, double-spaced text.
  • Maintain 1-inch margins on all sides.
  • Include line numbers and page numbers.

Structure:

  • Title Page: Include article title, full author names, affiliations, corresponding author details, and acknowledgments (if applicable).
  • Abstract: Limit to 250 words; structured format (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion) for original research.
  • Keywords: Provide 4–6 relevant keywords.
  • Main Text: Follow IMRAD format (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion) for original research.
  • References: Use Vancouver style; ensure references are cited sequentially in the text using superscript numbers.

 3. Figures and Tables

  • Submit figures in high-resolution (minimum 300 DPI), in JPEG, PNG, or TIFF format.
  • Tables should be created using the Word table function; do not insert images of tables.
  • All figures and tables should be cited in the text and accompanied by appropriate legends.

 4. Ethical Compliance

Authors must confirm:

  • Compliance with the Declaration of Helsinki for clinical studies.
  • Approval from appropriate Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) or ethics committees.
  • Informed consent for identifiable patient data or images.

 5. Conflict of Interest & Funding

Authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest and clearly state sources of financial or material support in a dedicated section at the end of the manuscript.

6. Submission Process

All manuscripts should be submitted through the online manuscript submission system [Link to Portal].

Authors will receive an acknowledgment upon successful submission and can track the status of their manuscript throughout the peer-review process.

7. Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo:

  • Initial editorial screening for scope and format.
  • Double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.
  • Final decision by the editorial board.

 8. Revisions and Resubmission

Authors invited to revise must:

  • Address each reviewer comment point-by-point in a separate response letter.
  • Highlight changes in the revised manuscript using track changes or colored text.

9. Authorship Criteria

All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research. The journal adheres to the authorship guidelines defined by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
