Xinyong Liu

M.S. and PhD degrees from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shandong University. He worked at the Instituto de Quimica Medica (CSIC) in Madrid, Spain as a senior visiting scholar (1997-1999). He is currently a full Professor of the Institute of Medicinal Chemistry, Shandong University. Research InterestHis research interests include rational drug design, chemical synthesis, and antiviral evaluation of a variety of molecules that interact with specific enzymes and receptors in the viral life cycle. Other ongoing programs include phenotypic screening-based target fishing and molecular modification for discovery and development of anti-gout drug (URAT1 inhibitor and OX inhibitor) and cardio/vascular drug (anticoagulant). Also he studies on medicinal strategies in AI aided drug design. He has published more than 400 co-authored and peer-reviewed papers, and won title of “World’s Top 2% Scientists 2020”, “The top 100,000 scientists in the world, and been named as an “Elsevier High Citation Scholar” for 11 consecutive years. |
