Associate Editor Department of Medicinal Chemistry Shandong University, China BiographyXinyong Liu received his B.S. M.S. and PhD degrees from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shandong University. He worked at the Instituto de Quimica Medica (CSIC) in Madrid, Spain as a senior visiting scholar (1997-1999). He is currently a full Professor of the Institute of Medicinal Chemistry, Shandong University. Research InterestHis research interests include rational drug design, chemical synthesis, and antiviral evaluation of a variety of molecules that interact with specific enzymes and receptors in the viral life cycle. Other ongoing programs include phenotypic screening-based target fishing and molecular modification for discovery and development of anti-gout drug (URAT1 inhibitor and OX inhibitor) and cardio/vascular drug (anticoagulant). Also he studies on medicinal strategies in AI aided drug design. He has published more than 400 co-authored and peer-reviewed papers, and won title of “World’s Top 2% Scientists 2020”, “The top 100,000 scientists in the world, and been named as an “Elsevier High Citation Scholar” for 11 consecutive years. |
