The SCICONX Journal of Diabetes Research (JDR) operates under a full open-access publishing model, ensuring that all accepted articles are freely accessible to readers worldwide without subscription barriers. To support the editorial workflow, peer review management, production, and online hosting, the journal applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted manuscripts.

The APC is only applicable after a manuscript has successfully completed peer review and is accepted for publication.

✦ APC Structure

  • The Standard article processing charges are 1229 Euros and these APCs are exclusive of any applicable taxes.

Note: Charges apply only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication following peer review.

✦ What the APC Covers

The Article Processing Charge supports the following services:

  • Editorial assessment and manuscript handling
  • Coordination of rigorous peer review
  • Professional copyediting and typesetting
  • Online publication and hosting
  • Long-term digital archiving and accessibility
  • Promotion and dissemination of published articles

The APC ensures that all published content is accessible globally without restrictions.

✦ Payment Terms and Conditions

  • APC invoices are issued only after manuscript acceptance
  • Payment must be completed prior to final publication
  • Accepted payment methods may include:
    • Bank transfer
    • Online payment gateways (if available)

Detailed payment instructions will be provided to authors upon acceptance.

 Important Notes

  • Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee acceptance or publication
  • APCs are non-refundable once the article has entered the production stage
  • Withdrawal of a manuscript after acceptance may be subject to applicable charges, as per journal policy

✦ Withdrawal Policy

SCICONX Publishing respects authors’ rights to request manuscript withdrawal but emphasizes that such requests should be made responsibly due to the significant time and resources invested by editors, reviewers, and the publishing team. Authors may withdraw their manuscript without penalty before peer review begins. During peer review, a valid reason—such as ethical concerns, duplication, or submission errors—must be provided. Post-acceptance withdrawal is strongly discouraged, and submitting the same manuscript to another journal without proper justification is considered unethical and may be reported. To offset editorial and processing efforts, a withdrawal fee equivalent to 40% of the Article Processing Charge (APC) may be applied for requests made after peer review starts. The Editorial Office retains the right to approve or decline withdrawal requests, particularly in cases of suspected misconduct or duplication. SCICONX encourages authors to thoroughly evaluate the journal’s scope and policies prior to submission to minimize unnecessary withdrawal requests, ensuring a smooth and ethical publishing process.

JDR maintains complete transparency in its APC policy:

The journal may provide:

  • APC discounts for Editorial Board Members
