Instructions for Authors

The SCICONX Journal of Cellular Immunology and Tissue Engineering (JCITE) welcomes high-quality submissions that advance knowledge at the interface of cellular immunology, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and immune-engineering. Authors are encouraged to carefully review these instructions prior to submission to ensure a smooth and efficient editorial and peer review process.

JCITE publishes original, ethical, and methodologically sound research that contributes meaningful scientific insight and translational value.

✦ Manuscript Categories

JCITE accepts the following types of submissions:

  • Original Research Articles – Full-length reports of novel experimental or computational studies.
  • Review Articles – Comprehensive and critical evaluations of current knowledge and emerging trends.
  • Mini-Reviews – Focused overviews of rapidly developing or specialized topics.
  • Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses – Structured evidence-based studies following recognized reporting standards.
  • Short Communications – Concise reports of significant preliminary or innovative findings.
  • Perspectives and Commentaries – Scholarly opinions addressing conceptual advances or challenges in the field.
  • Methods and Protocols – Detailed descriptions of experimental or analytical techniques with clear reproducibility value.
  • Translational Case Studies – Selective submissions with strong mechanistic relevance to immune–tissue interactions.

✦ General Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

Language and Style

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear, professional English.
  • Either British or American spelling may be used consistently.
  • Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to seek professional language editing prior to submission.

File Format

  • Formatting Template (Click here to download).
  • Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  • Figures may be embedded in the manuscript for review purposes and uploaded separately as high-resolution files.

Manuscript Structure

➤ Title Page

The title page should include:

  • Concise and informative manuscript title
  • Full names of all authors
  • Institutional affiliations
  • Corresponding author’s email address
  • A short running title (optional)

➤ Abstract

  • Original Research Articles should include a structured abstract (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion) of up to 250 words.
  • Review articles may use an unstructured abstract.
  • Abstracts should clearly state the scientific significance of the work.

➤ Keywords

Provide 3–6 keywords that accurately reflect the content and improve discoverability.

➤ Main Text (Original Research)

  • Introduction
  • Materials and Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion (optional)

Subheadings should be used to enhance clarity and logical flow.

➤ Figures and Tables

  • Figures should be of high quality and clearly labeled.
  • Tables must be editable and not embedded as images.
  • All figures and tables should be cited sequentially in the text.
  • Image manipulation that alters scientific meaning is strictly prohibited.

➤ References

  • JCITE follows a numbered citation style.
  • References should be listed in the order of appearance in the text.
  • Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of references.

Ethical Requirements

Research Ethics:

  • Studies involving humans or animals must have approval from appropriate ethics committees.
  • A clear ethics statement must be included in the manuscript.
  • Informed consent must be obtained where applicable.

Authorship Criteria

Authorship should be based on:

  • Substantial contribution to study design, data acquisition, or analysis
  • Drafting or critically revising the manuscript
  • Approval of the final version
  • Accountability for all aspects of the work
  • Guest or honorary authorship is not permitted.

Conflict of Interest and Funding Disclosure

  • All authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest.
  • Sources of funding must be clearly stated.

Data Availability and Reproducibility

  • JCITE encourages transparency and reproducibility.

Authors should:

  • Describe data availability clearly
  • Provide access to datasets where possible
  • Include sufficient methodological detail for replication

Plagiarism and Originality

  • Submissions must be original and unpublished.
  • Manuscripts must not be under consideration elsewhere.
  • All submissions are screened for plagiarism.

Peer Review Process

  • JCITE operates a double-blind peer review system.
  • Manuscripts are assessed for scope, originality, scientific quality, and ethical compliance.
  • Editorial decisions include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection.

Revision and Resubmission

  • Authors should respond to reviewer comments in a point-by-point format.
  • Revised manuscripts must highlight changes made.

JCITE is a Gold Open Access journal. Accepted manuscripts are published with immediate online access. Article Processing Charges (APCs), if applicable, will be communicated transparently during the editorial process.
