The Manuscript Submission Process of the SCICONX Journal of Advanced Materials & Engineering (JAME) is designed to provide authors with a smooth, transparent, and efficient pathway from manuscript preparation to final submission. This page outlines each step in detail to ensure that authors clearly understand the workflow and requirements before submitting their work.

Our submission system supports a structured, user-friendly, and ethically guided experience that aligns with international publishing standards and SCICONX editorial principles.

1. Preparing Your Manuscript

Before starting the submission process, authors must ensure that their manuscript:

  • Fits the Aim and Scope of the journal.
  • Follows the Instructions for Authors in terms of structure, formatting, referencing, and ethical compliance.

  • Includes all required components: title page, abstract, keywords, main text, figures, tables, references, and supplementary files (if any).
  • Contains original, unpublished work that is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Meets ethical requirements for human/animal research, data integrity, and conflict of interest disclosures.

A well-prepared manuscript ensures a faster and more efficient review process.

2. Registering or Logging into the Submission System

Authors must access the journal’s Online Manuscript Submission Portal provided by SCICONX Publishing. Through this portal, authors can:

  • Register for a new account
  • Log in using existing credentials
  • Track the progress of submitted manuscripts
  • Communicate with the editorial office

Each submission is managed securely and confidentially through this system.

3. Starting a New Submission

Once logged in, authors must select Submit New Manuscript and choose the appropriate article type:

  • Original Research
  • Review Article
  • Mini Review
  • Short Communication
  • Case Study (if applicable)
  • Editorial
  • Perspective or Commentary
  • Special Issue Article

Selecting the correct article type ensures appropriate processing and reviewer assignment.

4. Completing the Submission Form

Authors will be guided through several structured steps:

a. Manuscript Title and Abstract

Enter the full title, running title (if required), structured or unstructured abstract, and keywords.

b. Author Information

Provide complete details for all authors:

  • Full name
  • Institutional affiliation
  • Email address
  • ORCID iD
  • Contribution details

The “Corresponding Author” must be clearly identified.

c. Cover Letter Upload

A cover letter addressed to the Editor-in-Chief must briefly include:

  • Purpose of the study
  • Novelty and significance
  • Confirmation of originality
  • Compliance with ethical standards
  • Statement that the manuscript is not under review elsewhere

d. Conflict of Interest Declarations

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal conflicts.

e. Funding Information

Provide details of any grants, sponsors, or financial support.

f. Ethical Compliance Statements

Depending on the research, authors must confirm:

  • IRB or ethics committee approvals
  • Animal welfare compliance
  • Informed consent (if applicable)

g. Suggested Reviewers (Optional)

Authors may recommend qualified reviewers, ensuring no conflicts of interest. The Editorial Board may or may not consider these suggestions.

5. Uploading Manuscript Files

Authors must upload the following files individually:

• Main Manuscript File

Blinded version without author-identifying information.

• Title Page

Includes author names, affiliations, contributions, acknowledgments, and conflict declarations.

• Figures and Tables

High-resolution figures and editable tables uploaded separately or included within the manuscript as instructed.

• Supplementary Materials (Optional)

Datasets, videos, extended tables, methodological details, or additional figures that support the study.

• Graphical Abstract (If Required)

A concise visual summary of the study.

• Plagiarism Report (Optional but Recommended)

For transparency and efficiency, authors may upload their own similarity report.

The system ensures proper labeling and organization of all files before final submission.

6. Final Manuscript Checklist

Before submitting, authors should verify:

  • The manuscript adheres to formatting guidelines
  • All ethical approval statements are included
  • References follow the correct citation style
  • All figures/tables are clear, legible, and properly numbered
  • The title page is separate from the blinded manuscript
  • No author-identifying details appear in the main document
  • Supplementary materials are correctly named and uploaded
  • The cover letter is complete and concise

This step helps prevent desk rejection.

7. Submitting the Manuscript

After all required data and files are provided, authors may click Submit Manuscript.”

Once submitted:

  • The manuscript receives a unique tracking ID
  • A confirmation email is sent to the corresponding author
  • Authors can monitor progress in real time through the portal

Manuscripts cannot be edited after submission unless requested by the editorial office.

8. Editorial Pre-Screening

The editorial office conducts an initial quality and relevance check within 3–7 working days. Screening includes:

  • Suitability to the journal’s scope
  • Adherence to submission guidelines
  • Plagiarism/similarity evaluation
  • Basic scientific soundness
  • Compliance with ethical standards

Manuscripts failing to meet requirements may receive a desk rejection with guidance for improvement.

9. Assignment to Handling Editor

Eligible manuscripts are assigned to an expert editor (Associate Editor or Section Editor). The editor evaluates:

  • Novelty and importance
  • Technical quality
  • Clarity of methodology
  • Completeness of data
  • Potential relevance to readership

If suitable, the manuscript proceeds to the peer-review stage.

10. Peer Review Process

The editor assigns two or more independent reviewers. The journal follows double-blind peer review, ensuring unbiased evaluation. Reviewers provide:

  • Detailed comments
  • Recommendations (accept/minor/major revision/reject)
  • Suggestions for improvement
  • Ethical concerns (if any)

Authors are notified of reviewer comments and the editor’s decision.

11. Revision Submission (If Applicable)

For manuscripts requiring revision:

  • Authors must address all reviewer comments point-by-point
  • Revised files must be uploaded through the submission portal
  • A marked (tracked changes) and clean version must be provided
  • Editors may send the revised manuscript for secondary review

Failure to respond adequately may delay or affect the final decision.

12. Final Decision and Acceptance

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on:

  • Reviewer recommendations
  • Editorial evaluations
  • Quality of revisions
  • Overall contribution to the field

Once accepted:

  • The manuscript proceeds to production
  • Authors must finalize copyright forms and publication agreements

13. Proofing and Publication

Accepted manuscripts undergo:

• Copyediting

Language, grammar, formatting, and technical corrections.

• Typesetting

Conversion into the journal’s publication layout.

• Galley Proofs

Authors review and approve final proofs.

• Online Publication

The article is published online as an Open Access paper.

14. Post-Publication Updates

After publication, authors can:

  • Share their article freely
  • Promote via academic networks
  • Request post-publication corrections if necessary
  • Submit supplementary updates or clarifications

The journal may publish corrections, addendums, or retractions following COPE guidelines.
