Editorial Policy

The Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (JPS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of editorial integrity, peer review ethics, and scientific transparency. Our editorial policy is designed to ensure rigorous quality control, fair decision-making, and timely dissemination of novel pharmaceutical knowledge that contributes to research, practice, and innovation in the field.

1. Editorial Independence

The editorial team operates with full autonomy and impartiality. Editorial decisions are made solely based on the manuscript’s academic merit, originality, scientific rigor, relevance to the journal’s scope, and ethical soundness, without any discrimination based on authors’ race, gender, nationality, institutional affiliation, or personal beliefs.

2. Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process. Expert reviewers are selected based on subject relevance and proven expertise. Reviews are confidential, constructive, and aim to improve the quality and clarity of the work. Editors mediate the process to ensure fairness, objectivity, and timeliness.

3. Editorial Responsibilities

The Editors-in-Chief and Associate Editors are responsible for:

  • Ensuring a transparent and unbiased review process
  • Maintaining confidentiality throughout the review cycle
  • Making final publication decisions based on reviewers’ recommendations and editorial judgment
  • Addressing ethical concerns, conflicts of interest, or post-publication issues responsibly

4. Ethical Standards

JPS follows ethical guidelines aligned with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors), and WAME (World Association of Medical Editors). We strictly prohibit:

  • Plagiarism (including self-plagiarism)
  • Data fabrication or falsification
  • Duplicate or redundant publication
  • Unethical experimentation or reporting

All research involving humans or animals must include appropriate ethical approvals and declarations of consent.

5. Conflict of Interest Disclosure

All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation or evaluation of the manuscript. Transparent declarations help preserve the credibility of the research and the journal.

6. Authorship and Contributions

Only individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, execution, or interpretation of the work should be listed as authors. All listed authors must approve the final manuscript before submission and accept joint responsibility for its content.

7. Manuscript Revisions and Appeals

Authors are encouraged to revise manuscripts thoroughly in response to reviewer comments. In case of disagreement with an editorial decision, authors may appeal by providing detailed justifications, which will be reviewed independently.

8. Post-Publication Policies

We are committed to maintaining the scientific record. Corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern will be issued when errors or ethical issues are identified after publication. Authors and readers are encouraged to report such issues promptly.

9. Open Access and Licensing

JPS is an open access journal, ensuring unrestricted access to published content. All articles are published under a Creative Commons license, allowing free distribution and reuse with proper attribution.
