The SCICONX Journal of Immunity and Infectious Diseases (JIID) is committed to providing authors with a clear, efficient, and transparent submission pathway. This page outlines the step-by-step process for submitting manuscripts, ensuring that your work reaches the global scientific community in a timely and professional manner.

1. Preparing Your Manuscript

Before submission, authors should ensure that their manuscript:

  • Formatting Template (Please click here to download.)
  • Adheres to the Instructions for Authors (formatting, structure, and referencing).
  • Contains all required sections, including title page, abstract, keywords, main text, figures, tables, and references.
  • Has undergone language and technical editing to improve clarity and readability.
  • Includes ethical approvals (if applicable), conflict of interest statements, acknowledgments, and funding disclosures.

Tip: Submissions that follow the journal’s formatting guidelines are processed more rapidly.

2. Online Submission Portal

  • Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the JIID Online Submission System available on the journal’s website.
  • First-time users must create an author account, while returning users can log in with existing credentials.
  • The system allows authors to:
    • Upload manuscript files and supplementary materials.
    • Track the status of submissions in real time.
    • Communicate securely with the editorial office.

3. File Requirements

When uploading, authors must provide:

  • Main Manuscript File (Word or compatible format; without author identifiers for double-blind review).
  • Title Page with author details, affiliations, and corresponding author contact information.
  • Figures and Tables in high resolution (submitted as separate files).
  • Supplementary Materials such as datasets, appendices, or additional multimedia (optional).

4. Initial Editorial Screening

Once submitted, manuscripts undergo a preliminary review by the Editorial Office to verify:

  • Completeness of submission files.
  • Compliance with ethical and formatting guidelines.
  • Relevance to the journal’s scope.

Submissions that do not meet the basic requirements may be returned to authors for correction before being considered for peer review.

5. Peer Review Assignment

  • Eligible manuscripts are assigned to an Associate Editor or Section Editor, who selects expert reviewers.
  • JIID uses a double-blind peer review process, ensuring confidentiality for both authors and reviewers.
  • Typically, at least two reviewers evaluate each manuscript, with a third invited if opinions differ significantly.

6. Peer Review Outcomes

After the review process, the editor will make a decision in one of the following categories:

  • Accept without revision – manuscript is ready for publication.
  • Minor revision – small changes are required before acceptance.
  • Major revision – substantial modifications are requested before further review.
  • Reject – manuscript is unsuitable for the journal or fails to meet scientific standards.

Authors receive detailed reviewer feedback to guide revisions and improve their work.

7. Revision and Resubmission

  • Authors must address all reviewer and editor comments point by point in a Response Letter.
  • Revised manuscripts should be uploaded through the online system within the specified timeframe.
  • Editors may send revised versions back to reviewers for re-evaluation, depending on the extent of changes.

8. Final Decision and Acceptance

  • Once revisions are satisfactory, the Editor-in-Chief or handling editor makes the final acceptance decision.
  • Accepted manuscripts are sent for professional copyediting, typesetting, and proofreading.
  • Authors receive proofs for final approval before publication.

9. Publication and Accessibility

  • Finalized articles are published online in open-access format, making them freely available to the global research community.
  • Each article is assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) for permanent citation and indexing.
  • Published articles are disseminated through multiple databases and platforms to maximize visibility.

10. Tracking Your Submission

Authors can log in to the submission system at any time to:

  • Monitor the status of their manuscript.
  • Respond to editorial or reviewer queries.
  • Upload revisions and supplementary files.

The submission process at JIID is designed to be transparent, fair, and author-friendly. By following these steps, researchers can contribute to a growing body of impactful literature in immunity and infectious diseases, helping to address some of the most pressing health challenges worldwide.
