The SCICONX Journal of Immunity and Infectious Diseases (JIID) welcomes submissions from researchers, clinicians, academicians, and professionals engaged in advancing the science of immunology, infectious diseases, and global health. To maintain a high standard of quality and clarity, authors are requested to carefully follow the instructions outlined below when preparing their manuscripts.
1. General Guidelines
- Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
- All submissions should be in English and presented in a clear, concise, and scholarly style.
- Authors are encouraged to ensure their work demonstrates novelty, rigor, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
- Plagiarism in any form will not be tolerated. Manuscripts undergo plagiarism detection software screening prior to review.
2. Article Types Accepted
JIID publishes a variety of scholarly works, including:
- Original Research Articles – Detailed reports of experimental, clinical, or translational studies.
- Review Articles – Comprehensive overviews of current knowledge and emerging areas.
- Short Communications – Concise reports of novel findings or preliminary data.
- Case Reports/Case Series – Documented observations of unusual or instructive clinical cases.
- Perspectives & Commentaries – Expert opinions on current issues, policy, or future directions.
- Editorials & Special Issues – Invited contributions on focused themes of importance.
3. Manuscript Structure

a) Title Page
- Title: Concise, informative, and specific.
- Author(s): Full names with institutional affiliations.
- Corresponding Author: Name, email, phone number, and ORCID ID.
- Running Title: Maximum of 50 characters.
b) Abstract & Keywords
- Abstract: Maximum 300 words; structured into Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion (for original research). Reviews and case reports may follow a narrative abstract.
- Keywords: 4–6 keywords reflecting the content, arranged alphabetically.
c) Main Text
- Introduction – Background, rationale, and objective.
- Materials and Methods – Detailed methodology for reproducibility. Ethical approval statements required for human/animal studies.
- Results – Clear presentation with tables/figures where relevant.
- Discussion – Interpretation of results, strengths, limitations, and comparison with existing literature.
- Conclusion – Concise summary of major findings and implications.
d) References
- Follow the Vancouver style (numbered, sequentially cited in-text).
- Include DOIs where available.
e) Figures and Tables
- Figures: High-resolution (minimum 300 dpi), submitted as separate files (JPEG/PNG/TIFF).
- Tables: Editable text format, not embedded as images.
- Captions: Provide informative legends for each figure and table.
4. Ethical Considerations
- Studies involving humans must state compliance with the Declaration of Helsinki and approval from a recognized Ethics Committee/IRB.
- Animal studies must adhere to internationally accepted welfare standards.
- Clinical trial submissions should include registration details (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov).
- Authors must disclose conflicts of interest and funding sources.
5. Submission Process
- Manuscripts should be submitted electronically via the journal’s online submission page.
- A cover letter should accompany each submission, highlighting the significance of the study and confirming originality.
6. Peer Review Policy
- All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening, followed by double-blind peer review.
- The process generally takes 3–5 weeks, depending on reviewer availability.
- Authors may be asked to provide revisions in response to reviewer comments.
- The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief, based on reviewer recommendations.
7. Open Access and Licensing
- JIID follows an open access publishing model, ensuring unrestricted availability of published articles.
- Authors retain copyright under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), allowing free distribution with proper citation.
8. Article Processing Charges (APC)
- To support open access and maintain high editorial standards, an APC applies upon acceptance.
9. Post-Acceptance
- Authors will receive page proofs for final corrections prior to publication.
- Minor corrections are allowed at this stage; major changes require editorial approval.
- Articles are published online in their final version shortly after acceptance.
