Instructions for Authors

The Journal of Cancer Research (JCR) welcomes submissions from researchers, clinicians, and scholars worldwide. To ensure a smooth and efficient submission process, authors are requested to carefully follow the guidelines below. Submissions that do not comply with these instructions may be returned for revision prior to peer review.

✍️ Article Types Accepted

The journal publishes a wide range of manuscript types, including:

  • Original Research Articles – Reports of novel findings in basic, translational, or clinical cancer research.
  • Review Articles – Comprehensive analyses summarizing current knowledge and future directions.
  • Short Communications – Brief reports of significant preliminary findings.
  • Case Reports & Case Series – Unique clinical cases providing new insights.
  • Commentaries & Editorials – Expert perspectives on emerging trends or key issues in oncology.
  • Letters to the Editor – Constructive discussions, critiques, or insights related to previously published articles.

✍️ Manuscript Preparation

General Format

  • Manuscripts must be submitted in English and prepared using a standard word processor (MS Word preferred).
  • Use double spacing, 12-point font (Times New Roman), with 1-inch margins on all sides.
  • Number pages consecutively, starting with the title page.

✍️ Manuscript Structure

  1. Title Page
    • Title of the article (concise and informative)
    • Full names of all authors with affiliations
    • Corresponding author details (name, email, postal address)
    • Running title (≤50 characters)
    • Keywords (3–6 relevant terms)
  2. Abstract
    • Structured abstract (250 words max) with subheadings: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion.
    • For reviews, an unstructured abstract is acceptable.
  3. Main Text
    • Original Research Articles should follow the IMRAD format (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion).
    • Reviews, case reports, and other article types may use appropriate headings.
  4. References
    • Follow Vancouver style (numbered citations in the text, with full details in the reference list).
    • Example: Smith J, Brown K. Advances in breast cancer therapy. J Cancer Res. 2022;15(2):120–128.
  5. Figures & Tables
    • Figures should be high-resolution (JPEG/TIFF, ≥300 dpi).
    • Tables must be editable (not images) and include descriptive titles and footnotes.
  6. Acknowledgments
    • Mention contributions not qualifying for authorship (e.g., technical assistance, funding).
  7. Conflict of Interest Statement
    • Authors must declare any financial or personal conflicts.
  8. Funding Information
    • Clearly state all sources of research funding.

✦ Ethical Considerations

  • Human Studies: Authors must confirm compliance with the Declaration of Helsinki and provide ethics committee approval.
  • Animal Studies: Research involving animals must follow institutional and international guidelines.
  • Informed Consent: Required for case reports and clinical studies involving patient data.

  • Manuscripts should be submitted electronically via the JCR online submission system
  • A cover letter must accompany all submissions, briefly describing the significance of the work.
