Peer Review Process

The Global Journal of Engineering and Technology (GJET) follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the highest standards of quality, integrity, and fairness in scholarly publishing. This process is designed to maintain the credibility of the journal while providing authors with constructive feedback to strengthen their research.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

  • Each submitted manuscript undergoes an initial evaluation by the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editors.
  • The manuscript is checked for:
    • Relevance to the journal’s scope
    • Originality and contribution to the field
    • Compliance with submission guidelines
    • Plagiarism and ethical considerations
  • Manuscripts failing to meet these basic requirements may be returned to authors without review.

2. Assignment to Reviewers

  • Manuscripts passing the initial check are assigned to at least two independent experts in the relevant field.
  • GJET operates under a double-blind review system:
    • Authors’ identities are not revealed to reviewers.
    • Reviewers’ identities remain anonymous to authors.
  • This ensures impartial and unbiased evaluation.

3. Reviewer Evaluation

Reviewers assess the manuscript based on:

  • Originality, novelty, and significance of the work
  • Soundness of methodology and data analysis
  • Clarity of results and interpretation
  • Quality of figures, tables, and references
  • Ethical standards and research integrity
  • Overall contribution to engineering and technology

Reviewers provide:

  • A detailed written report with constructive feedback
  • Specific suggestions for improvement
  • A recommendation on the manuscript’s status

4. Editorial Decision

Based on reviewers’ reports, the Editor-in-Chief (or handling editor) makes one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revisions – Manuscript meets all criteria for publication.
  • Minor revisions required – Manuscript is acceptable but requires small changes.
  • Major revisions required – Substantial improvements needed; resubmission for review may be required.
  • Reject – Manuscript is unsuitable for publication in GJET.

5. Revision and Resubmission

  • Authors receiving revision requests are expected to submit a revised manuscript along with a point-by-point response addressing reviewer comments.
  • Revised manuscripts may be sent back to reviewers for re-evaluation if significant changes are made.

6. Final Acceptance and Publication

  • Once the manuscript satisfies all reviewer and editorial requirements, it is formally accepted.
  • Accepted articles undergo copyediting, typesetting, and proofreading before online publication.
  • Articles are published in open access format, ensuring global visibility and accessibility.

7. Review Timeline

The journal strives to ensure a fair yet efficient review process:

  • Initial Decision: within 2-3 days
  • Peer Review Completion: 14-21 days
  • Final Decision Post-Revisions: 5-7 days
  • Online Publication: within 7–10 days of acceptance

(Timelines may vary depending on reviewer availability and complexity of revisions.)

8. Ethical Considerations

  • GJET adheres to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
  • Reviewers and editors are required to declare conflicts of interest.
  • Manuscripts suspected of plagiarism, data fabrication, or ethical violations are investigated thoroughly.

9. Recognition of Reviewers

  • Reviewers are acknowledged for their contributions annually.
  • Outstanding reviewers may be invited to join the Editorial Board.
  • Certificates of appreciation can be provided upon request.

The peer review process at GJET ensures that only original, high-quality, and ethically sound research is published, contributing to the advancement of engineering and technology worldwide.
