The Journal of Biomedical Science (JBS) welcomes high-quality, original contributions from researchers, clinicians, and professionals across the diverse domains of biomedical science. To maintain clarity, transparency, and efficiency in the submission and review cycle, authors are required to follow the structured submission process outlined below.

1. Preparing Your Manuscript

Before submission, authors should carefully prepare their manuscript in accordance with the Instructions for Authors. Key steps include:

  • Formatting Template (Please click here to download.)
  • Ensuring the manuscript is original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Structuring the manuscript into appropriate sections such as Title Page, Abstract, Keywords, Main Text, References, Figures, and Tables.
  • Following the journal’s formatting requirements (font, line spacing, citation style, figure resolution, etc.).
  • Including a cover letter summarizing the significance of the work and confirming adherence to ethical and publication policies.

2. Online Submission Portal

All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission page.

3. Initial Editorial Assessment

Once submitted, the editorial office conducts a preliminary evaluation to ensure:

  • Compliance with the journal’s scope.
  • Adherence to formatting and ethical standards.
  • Completeness of submission materials.
Submissions not meeting basic requirements may be returned to authors for revision before peer review.

4. Peer Review Allocation

Manuscripts passing the initial check are assigned to an Associate Editor who selects suitable expert reviewers. The journal follows a double-blind peer review process, ensuring that both reviewers and authors remain anonymous to maintain impartiality.

5. Peer Review Process

Reviewers provide constructive feedback on the manuscript’s originality, methodological rigor, clarity, and contribution to biomedical science. Based on reviewer recommendations, the editorial decision may be:

  • Accept without revision
  • Minor revision
  • Major revision
  • Reject

Authors receive detailed reviewer comments to guide revisions.

6. Revision and Resubmission

For manuscripts requiring revision:

  • Authors should respond to each reviewer comment point-by-point in a response letter.
  • Revised manuscripts must be submitted through the same portal within the specified timeframe.
  • The revised version may undergo additional rounds of review depending on the extent of changes.

7. Final Decision and Acceptance

The Editor-in-Chief or designated Associate Editor makes the final decision after considering reviewer reports and author responses. Upon acceptance, authors will receive an official acceptance letter, and the manuscript proceeds to production.

8. Production and Proofs

Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting, typesetting, and formatting. Authors will receive page proofs for final approval. Any corrections at this stage should be minor and limited to factual or typographical errors.

9. Online Publication

The final article is published online making it immediately available to the global research community. Articles are indexed and archived in relevant databases to maximize visibility and citation impact.

10. Post-Publication Engagement

Authors are encouraged to share their published work through academic networks, institutional repositories, and social media platforms. The journal may also promote selected articles through newsletters and press releases to broaden research impact.
